What is managed ODK Central hosting?

It gives your project a dedicated ODK Central instance without your team provisioning or configuring a server. We handle the instance, domain, and TLS certificate; your team manages forms, users, and fieldwork.

How long does provisioning take?

Once a superadmin approves your request, provisioning itself takes roughly 30–60 seconds — most of the wait is the manual review and DNS propagation for your domain.

What does ODK Pro manage?

We handle server provisioning, ODK Central installation, and TLS. Your team remains responsible for forms, users, collection design, and field operations.

Which plan should I choose?

If you're not sure, start with Starter. You can move to a larger server later by replying to your confirmation email — we'll help size it to your fieldwork volume.

Are users, projects, forms, or submissions capped?

Users, projects, forms, and submissions are never capped on any plan. Every instance still runs on that plan's CPU, memory, and storage, so very high-volume programs may still want a larger plan for headroom.

Can I use existing XLSForms?

Yes. Once your instance is live, you sign in with the sysadmin account we issue and upload XLSForms directly in ODK Central.

Do you charge a card when I submit a request?

No. Submitting a request doesn't charge anything. A superadmin reviews it and follows up by email to confirm your plan and arrange billing before your instance is provisioned.

What happens if I need to pause between collection rounds?

Email us and we'll stop your instance's service so you're not running compute you don't need. Email us again when you're ready to restart.
